Welcome to Reception

In Reception we have two classes, taught by Miss Snape (RHS) and Mrs Kelly and Miss Spencer (RKS)

Mrs Kizielewicz, Mrs Sampson, Mrs Naweed, Mrs Kendle, Miss Lamerton, Miss Bishop and Miss Yeomans are also part of our Reception team.
The classes share a purpose built reception unit. We believe learning from play is very important and encourage this through set areas linked to the EYFS curriculum across the unit. We have a large outdoor space, rich with learning opportunities.
Important Information
We have PE on a Thursday. Please make sure that you have a named PE kit in school as we are encouraging our children to dress themselves independently.
We have Forest School on a Friday. Please make sure that your child has warm clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and some wellies. Wellies can be left in school.
A selection of photos from the week will be uploaded every Friday on Tapestry for you to see what Reception have been learning! Any messages or important information will be uploaded to Tapestry, so please check Tapestry daily!
Phonics is taught daily. At the end of every week, your child will come home with QR codes and handwriting sheets to practise the sounds they have been learning!
Autumn Term
We have been working hard this half term to develop our independence and social skills by learning to take turns, share and work as a team.
We have enjoyed exploring our classroom areas which are: construction, creative, small world, story telling, playdough, sand and water and roleplay!
We have been learning how to play with our friends using kind hands, kind feet and kind words. In Reception we have been practising choose it, use it, put it away when playing in an area.
