Welcome to Year 4
There are two classes in Year 4. 4ZH taught by Miss Hoare and 4DM is taught by Mrs Dukes and Ms McKechnie. Mrs Gaskell, Miss Pritchard, Mrs Rouse, Mrs Callow and Miss Chambers are our classroom assistants.
Looks what we are reading for pleasure…
Autumn Term…
During the first term, we will be focusing on the whole school topic, ‘This is me”. During this topic, we will focus on who we are as individuals and what makes us unique.
In English lessons, we will be focusing on writing for a range of purposes and audiences. We will start by exploring the book, Little Mouse’s big book of fears.
In Maths lessons, we will be reactivating our knowledge and understanding of place value and number. We will then apply this knowledge to various problems and contexts. During this year, we will have a strong focus on times tables knowledge and recall in preparation for the Statutory Multiplication test in the summer term.
In reading lessons, we will use the full range of ‘Expert Tips’, to explore a collection of texts on the theme of exploration.
This term…
In Art lessons this term we are learning about Emily Gravett as an illustrator and we will create a self portrait in her style of sketching.
P.E
Tuesday we will be swimming and our second P.E slot will be used for invasion games.
