Welcome to Year 6. We are the oldest in the school and have taken on different roles within school such as head boy and girl, prefects, librarians, translators, photographers and badge makers! Our teachers are the football mad Mr Davies and Mr Hill.
During this term we will be focusing our work around two key texts- ‘Skellig’ by David Almond and a literacy and language unit on ‘Robin Hood’. Children will explore mythical creatures in Art and Design as well as in their writing. In Science, children will investigate ‘Living Things and Their Habitats’.
Furthermore, children will develop their locational knowledge as they identify and compare human and physical characteristics from around the world. As the 2016 Olympics are upon us children will have fantastic opportunities in P.E. where they can participate in rock-climbing, swimming and bell-boating.
In line with our Hollymount Core Values children will discuss and debate the following question: ‘Is it better to express your beliefs in arts and architecture or in charity and generosity’.
