Reading at Home

Reading at home supports your child in practising the skills they have learnt at school and helps them to learn to read more quickly.

But seeing adults read and children listening to parents read to them, is also very important. Even when a child can read by him or herself, it is important it keep sharing “story time”. Children learn language they are not yet capable of reading, or hear how to sound like a “storyteller”. Our aim is to teach children to read and to keep them reading, therefore they simple pleasure of reading and sharing books cannot be underestimated.

Below are some links to videos and information which explains how we teach our young children to read and how you can support them.
