History & Arts At KGV

Hollymount School continued its collaborative project with The Hive and held a third workshop on Tuesday, 28th June.  Thirteen children from Hollymount and six from Fairfield took part in activities based on the history of the local area.

They looked at maps and copies of historic documents kept at The Hive, including a letter written aboard the Titanic in 1912.  The children then wrote descriptions of the documents and turned this into a piece of oral poetry during the afternoon.

The children also met Worcester’s current Mayor and his wife and learned that the Mayor’s chain was 152 years old and made from solid gold!
