On Thursday 1st December, the year 3 and 4 boys played against an excellent Perdiswell team. It was a thrilling match finishing 3-3, with both teams playing very well.
Hollymount started slowly, going down to a looping effort and then a good finish following a counter attack made the score 2-0 to Perdiswell at half time.
However, Hollymount came out reinvigorated, after the team were given the ‘hairdryer’ treatment by under pressure boss, Wayne Telford. They played much better in the second half managing to score an early goal when Ollie bundled in. It was a much deserved goal for the tenacious midfielder, who gave his all throughout the match. Jack equalised a few minutes later when his direct running split the defence and he placed a shot past the on rushing keeper.
Perdiswell kept attacking and managed to take the lead again, when Alfie was eventually beaten. Alfie made several great saves to keep Hollymount in the match but could do nothing for the Perdiswell goals.
But Hollymount didn’t give up and managed to create more chances with Jack, Ollie and Ryan all going close. In the end though Hollymount’s attacking play payed off. Birthday boy, Ryan, got a great pass through the defence to Jack, who turned his man and scored, despite falling over. It was excellent play and what Hollymount’s second half performance deserved. The final score was 3-3.
Everyone played excellently and should be proud of their performance. Players of the match were Jack and Ollie, but lots of Hollymount’s players did very well, especially subs Stuart and Ryan who helped change the match.
Players of the match report- Jack and Ollie

We lost our heads a bit because we didn’t listen, then we did brilliantly in the second half.
