Football vs St Georges 02/02/16
Goals from Shelton and Fabian gave the year 5/6 team a deserved 2:2 draw against St George’s on Tuesday 2nd February.
St Georges scored twice in the first half and played very well and could have scored more, with a fantastic cross and volley going narrowly wide. Hollymount had a few chances, before Shelton scored a brilliant goal from a tight angle to make the score 2:1 at half time.
In the second half Hollymount played very well. They created lots of chances and gained a deserved equalizer when Fabian turned in an excellent cross from Vijay. St George’s had their chances but saw Dillion, the goalkeeper, in inspired form making some brilliant saves. Solid defending from Noah, Tommy, Tyler and Reece limited the St George’s attacks, and when they did get through some brilliant recovery tackles from Kevin kept the score at 2. Hollymount could have gone on to win the game with Tommy-Lee and Fabian hitting the frame of the goal, and other chances from Shelton and Vijay going just off target. However, the game finished a draw which kept Hollymount top of the league on 4 points.
Everyone played and represented the school brilliantly. Man of the match went to everyone who played in an excellent team performance.
